Prenatal Vision - Des Moines, IA

Photobucket

What can I say about this place? It was the most amazing experience I could ever imagine from an elective ultrasound company. When you walk in, there are beautiful portraits of mommys and their babies, bellies, and tiny toes hanging from the walls. There is a shelf with stuffed animals, burp cloths, and other misc. items that you can purchase to celebrate your baby (for a very reasonable price). You can even ask them to record your baby's heartbeat, and they will put it into a stuffed animal for you. How wonderful to have THAT forever?
The receptionist is always very friendly (We have been to Prenatal Vision a total of 4 times now, twice with each pregnancy) and the forms to fill out our very simple and quick. There is another shelf in the waiting area that has some parenting necessities on it..and some not-so-necessary items too (think cute hats, photographer referrals, etc) but everything is VERY clean, and very organized and very warm.
Even the bathroom is gorgeous!
Kari, the ultrasound tech, makes you feel like your baby is the most amazing, beautiful, perfect, exciting baby waiting to be born. She is fantastic at her job and it shines through. I don't think she knows what "substandard care" is. She makes the ultrasound worth every penny. She never seems to get frustrated with a stubbron baby (I have 2 of them!), and she always has some new trick up her sleeve (and a bowl full of chocolate!) to get that baby to show it's perfect face off. She takes her time with you. Our 4D scan with our first pregnancy was scheduled to last 30 minutes, and it ended up taking nearly an hour to get the baby to show us her face. We were the last appointment of the day, but we never got that "I want to go HOME" rushed feeling from Kari.
With our second child, the appointments before us had run quite a bit over (Kari also does diagnostic ultrasound for doctors and midwives in the Des Moines area, not just elective scans) and a baby with a cleft palate wasn't showing its face. We had to wait about 40 minutes for our ultrasound, but it was so worth it. They were very attentive to us and our 18 month old daughter. They had juice and books for our daughter (and my husband and me!) and when we left we were given a free toy with the baby's heartbeat in it to compensate for our time. Let me tell you, my daughter has not put down that teddy bear since.

Kari comes across as a very genuine, wholesome person and that personality really reflects in the way she runs her business. I would absolutely NOT hesitate to refer anyone to her. Hospital ultrasounds are so medical and impersonal - treat your family to this special day with Prenatal Vision.

Prenatal Vision also offers discounts for driving, returning customer discounts, and special packages.
